“He’s gone. I’m heading to Atlanta for the funeral on Saturday. He was way too young, man. I can’t believe this.”
As I hung up the phone, I was shocked. The brother of one of my high school buddies had passed away from an overdose.
He was in his mid-30s with two beautiful children. But after a long struggle with addiction, his body had enough.
Unfortunately, this phone call plays out over 70,000 times per year in the U.S. alone.
Globally, drug abuse and overdoses claim about a half-million lives every year. And it costs society an estimated $3 trillion in medical expenses and lost productivity.
This is a global scourge with seemingly no end in sight.
Six months ago, I met a man who introduced me to the therapeutic powers – and investment opportunities – in the plant-based medicines industry.
His name is Mike “Zappy” Zapolin. And he’s the most-connected man in this space.
Zappy is a futurist, multimillionaire investor, and former Wall Street vice president.
He’s been featured in Vice… Playboy… and Fox News. And he’s a man whom athletes, movie stars, world-class doctors, and even Oprah Winfrey rely on as the most-trusted source of information in psychedelic therapeutics.
Zappy is the guy who showed me how psychedelics are being used to treat depression and substance abuse… two conditions that take so many lives per year, just like my high school buddy’s brother.
But even with all this evidence showing the effectiveness of psychedelic therapeutics, I have to admit… when I met Zappy six months ago, I was still pretty skeptical of psychedelic therapies – and the life-changing investment potential they offer.
He Won Me Over
At PBRG, we get “pitched” investing ideas all the time by people from all walks of life.
But over the course of countless meetings with Zappy – poring over research, and most importantly, results – I started to see the health and investment potential of psychedelic medicines.
For example, Zappy showed me numerous studies demonstrating just how effective psychedelic therapies can be:
In 2018, the FDA granted a “breakthrough therapy” designation to Compass Pathways. This designation allows companies to speed up developing and reviewing drugs intended to treat a serious condition.
The company uses psilocybin (a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in fungi) for treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
In 2019, the FDA gave the same designation to the Usona Institute, which uses psilocybin to treat major depressive disorder (MDD). The condition causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.
In 2019, the Department of Veterans Affairs approved the psychedelic ketamine for the treatment of PTSD.
These studies are just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a growing number of medical professionals and researchers looking into psychedelic compounds to treat everything from anxiety to addiction.
But what really won me over was Zappy’s own personal experiences treating people with plant-based medicines…
In addition to being a multimillionaire investor… former Wall Street executive… and “psychedelics concierge to the stars”… Zappy’s also a documentarian.
His most recent film is Lamar Odom Reborn. It recounts the former NBA star’s long battle with substance abuse.
I watched the incredible story of Lamar’s journey back from addiction… 12 seizures and six heart attacks… to being able to play professional basketball again – and reclaim his life.
The secret to Lamar’s recovery? Plant-based treatments.
During the film, Zappy helps guide Lamar to sobriety using a West African plant called iboga.
During their therapy session, Zappy sat by Lamar’s bedside with professionals as they administered the treatment. Fortunately, everything went fine.
When I met Lamar at the pre-screening for the film, I could hear the relief and appreciation in his voice. He truly felt that the ancient treatments that big pharma and governments have persecuted for decades had saved his life.
The global potential of this new industry is immense. As I mentioned above, it’s working on solving the $3 trillion global mental health epidemic. (That’s why Daily editor Teeka Tiwari calls plant-based medicines his next trillion-dollar trade.)
Not only do we have a chance to position ourselves for incredible gains…
We can highlight companies working tirelessly to cure addictions and other ailments that have gone under (or mistreated) for too long.
Because of his intimate knowledge in this space – and his experience as an investor – we’re proud to have Zappy as the newest member of the PBRG team.
A Light on the Horizon
Our goal at PBRG is to find ideas that can help you turn tiny grubstakes into life-changing gains. And we’ve done that across our services.
And Zappy has vast experience doing that.
For instance, he was an early pioneer in the internet domain-naming industry.
In 1998, before the internet really took off, he had a hunch and bought Beer.com for $80,000. Two months later, he sold it for $7 million – an 8,650% return on his initial capital.
He went on to own many of the world’s top domain names, including CreditCards.com, Music.com, and Diamond.com… He even had his own Super Bowl ad in 2000.
So Zappy’s a perfect fit for what we do here at PBRG. And we’re confident he’ll provide the types of life-changing opportunities our readers are used to.
By investing in the best companies in this space, we can help impact the lives of millions who suffer from chronic ailments. In many cases, traditional pharma has failed the millions suffering from chronic conditions or addiction.
And that failure has come at a high cost in terms of the thousands of lives lost… Including the brother of my high school friend.
Psychedelic treatments offer a light on the horizon… And along with Zappy, we’ll position you to profit from the companies at the forefront of this massive trend.

P.S. Big T, Zappy, and I have developed a proprietary filtration system that we run each opportunity through to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Our goal is to pinpoint the most promising companies from the poorly managed or outright frauds. And having an experienced guide like Zappy is paramount to identifying those.
That’s how we identified five small companies with the potential to pull forward 100 years’ worth of average market returns in 18 months…
These are companies on the cutting edge of psychedelic medicines and treatments… and as more studies prove these treatments to be effective, the value of these companies will rise. You can learn more about them right here…
