It’s called “River House.” It sits along the banks of the Ohio River in southern Indiana. And it can be yours for $199 and a 200-word essay…
The owners of the 4,000-square-foot house are trying an unusual way of selling: an essay contest.
You just need to convey a short, compelling reason they should give the keys to you (and attach a $199 cashier’s check).
A team from nearby Hanover College will judge the submissions based on:
- Focus
- Grammar
- Creativity
- Inspiration.
You can check out the house and submit your entries right here. The deadline is September 29.
Reeves’ Note: If you’re thinking about entering, you may first want to consult Mark’s classic book on compelling writing: Persuasion: The Subtle Art of Getting What You Want.
