The Telegraph reports a new study of 70,000 people reveals no link between high “bad” cholesterol and premature death from heart disease in folks over age 60.

One of the study’s lead researchers summed it up best:

Lowering cholesterol with medications for primary cardiovascular prevention in those aged over 60 is a total waste of time and resources…
