Drone

“Thirty minutes” is all it will take to change the way you shop forever…

CNBC reports Amazon’s fleet of delivery drones is ready for takeoff. The company’s “Prime Air” service will provide delivery times of just 30 minutes after purchase.

The unmanned aerial vehicles take off and land like helicopters… but fly like airplanes. They can travel up to 55 mph and have a range of 15 miles.

They fly to your house, land, release your package, and fly back to Amazon’s distribution hubs.

Amazon is only waiting for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory approval. It’s coming soon. Analysts predict delivery drones will become a $15 billion market within the next two years.

The news won’t surprise regular Daily readers. They know drones are just the next advancement in the “Internet of Things” (IoT) mega trend.

The original Internet linked everyone’s computers. Now the Internet of Things is linking everything else: from cars… to refrigerators… to thermostats… to delivery drones.

Here’s how it works:

Laundry

You run low on detergent doing the laundry…

A tiny chip inside the detergent bottle “tells” your “smart” washing machine to order more…

Your washing machine uses your Amazon account to purchase more detergent…

An Amazon drone “airlifts” a bottle to your backyard a half-hour later… just in time for you to start a new load.

Folks, this is real… and it’s happening right now. Almost every physical object you can imagine will wind up with a tiny IoT chip. And that’s why Mega Trends Investing Editor Teeka Tiwari calls the Internet of Things “the largest mega trend we’ll ever see in our lifetimes.”

$19 trillion will flow into the IoT over the next four years.

By 2020, the IoT will be larger than the global computer, smartphone, tablet, and connected car markets—combined.
